Thiakry: The Creamy & Refreshing West African Dessert

  Today, we're diving into a beloved dessert from Senegal and across West Africa:  Thiakry  (pronounced  cha-kri ). If you've never tried it, you're in for a treat! Thiakry is a wonderfully creamy and refreshing dish made from millet couscous served in a sweet, spiced yogurt mixture. While it may look simple, the flavors are incredibly satisfying. Originally from Senegal, where it's also called "Dégué," you can find variations of this dessert in Mali, Ivory Coast, Gambia, and beyond. It’s the perfect light dessert for a warm day or a comforting treat anytime.
